I had a couple of hours to get some stuff done in my craft area and after I had a nice clean desk, I decided that I needed to mess it up again. I was putting my pictures away and flipped through over 1,000 pictures that I took of our last trip to Disney that still need to be scrapped. These pictures had to be some of my favorites! My oldest had had too much of long lines, record setting temperatures for October, and late nights. He had a meltdown while we were trying to take a family picture in front of the castle. I tried not to let it get the best of me, so I started snapping some pictures of him. He was not amused! He got even more mad!! Our motto that week was, “It’s the happiest place on Earth!” Obviously it wasn’t.

For this layout I used all scraps from his autograph book that I made for him to take. Also, I used my new EK Success Slimline punch (LOVE those) that I just bought from A Cherry On Top. I can’t really tell where all the paper is from because it was all scraps. Some of it I am sure it’s from Reminisce. The letters were cut from Street Sign, Mickey and Friends, and Make the Cut, Walt Disney script. This was a really easy layout to put together and my scrap drawer is a few pieces lighter. Monday’s mini challenge #2 at A Cherry On Top was to use three shades of green on your layout or card. I had just printed this photo out of me and hubby at his brother’s wedding. The groomsmen all changed into tuxedo shirts at the reception. As soon as I read the challenge, I thought about this picture. I used scraps of some St. Patricks Day paper which had four different shades of green. My embellishment cluster has green and white flowers, a handmade lace flower, clear buttons, a piece of transparency scrap cut into a heart shape, rub-ons, skittles, Dymo label maker words, and Make the Cut letters. I used the words from Jason Mraz’s Lucky as the title, but decided to use Love instead of lucky as the main titile to separate it from a St. Patrick’s Day layout. The main subject of most of my layouts are of my children, so this was a nice change for me. I hope you like it. Happy crafting!

I pulled out so many things and just piled them on my desk. Then after getting my photos matted and added to the blue cardstock, I just started using/adding all the embellishments! I had some great colors from the photos, lots of bright hues. I pulled it together in just a couple of hours. I thought that it would be alot harder than it was, but it definately got me thinking. I was afraid that it would end up looking too busy. I thought that an embellishment cluster would be the easiest way to add everything. Since I had a long list of stuff to use, I used up alot of my stash!! This was a fun challenge to do and I would participate again!! I hope you try it too! Happy crafting!

Last year, I did a layout about Corbin’s first black eye. I had almost forgotten about Dylan’s first one. I was rummaging around in my Sassy Scrapper bag and found an unfinished layout with these pictures. I didn’t like what I had so I started all over. I had picked this wonderful paper up in my favorite store in Knoxville, Scrappin in the City, the last time I visited. The girls that own the store have sons so they have a great selection of papers for boys. If you scrap about boys, then you know how hard it is to find cute stuff for them. This line is Rough and Tough by Fancy Pants. I think I bought one of every design, plus the journaling book!! Not much was added to this because I love the doodling look in the corner of the paper. I added a transparency frame, an arrow stamp from Close to My Heart, some star brads from Paper Studio, a date sticker, and I called this one done! Happy Crafting!!

Where do I even begin with this layout? I saw a challenge at A Cherry on Top to use a number in a layout. I didn’t really give it much thought until I found this ultrasound picture while looking for something else. I remember that day pretty well. I went in for my first ultrasound to find out how far along I was. I suspect my doctor thought I was farther along after the pregnancy test. So he sent me to have an ultrasound. I was not expecting to hear what she said. After everything was done, she said, “It looks like it’s buy one get one free today. You’re having two babies.” I was completely and totally shocked!!

I thought about the number challenge, and the idea for this layout came to me. I used SO MUCH of my old stash for this layout! Some of this stuff I have had for a couple of years! The paper and hat pins are Heidi Grace. All of the buttons are from Making Memories, part of the Paperie stash that I found in the Michaels dollar bins! They matched perfectly. The ribbon is Martha Stewart, which I bought last year at Big Lots for $2. The font is Lyrical Letters from Cricut, one of my faves! I just bought some Grungeboard numbers from Tuesday Morning for $6. (See a pattern yet?) The two punches are EK Success slimline punch, a mini threading water, and a Martha Stewart scallop punch on the brown paper. This layout turned out a little different than what I planned, but it’s cute and I like the story that it tells. I’m still trying to decide whether or not my journaling takes away from the layout, so right now, it’s on the back of my cardstock. I hope that you like it too! Happy crafting!

Well, with all the wedding stuff finished, I had a TON of scraps and leftovers.  And when I sat down to make some Mother’s Day cards, they were still sitting on my scrap chair.  I love this paper, so I put together this pretty card using the scraps.  The gray flocked paper is from a black and white Me and My Big Ideas stack.  (We used this for the table numbers.)  The Hampton Arts set of 8 stamps was from Michaels, on clearance for 2.99!!  I am such a sucker for acrylic stamps on clearance.  I think I bought seven sets that day!  I stamped with StazOn to get a good image and then punched them out with a circle punch.  Added some ribbon and Glossy Accents to the butterfly and had my card done in less than 10 minutes!  I love it and I think that one of my moms will too!!  Happy crafting!
